DESIGN: Enid Marx at The House of Illustration

Enid Marx (1902-1998) was a textile designer, printmaker and illustrator who defined mid-20th century British design. She’s best known nowadays for her industrial textiles for the London Transport board and wartime utility furniture scheme, but in reality her work was incredibly varied, including patterned paper, book illustration and stamp, poster and print design. Remarkably,  this is the first full exhibition dedicated to her work for forty years, so we’re glad it’s in the auspicious surroundings of the relatively new kid on the block, the House of Illustration, in London’s Kings Cross. See it from 25th May-23rd Sept 2018 at The House of Illustration, 2 Granary Square, London, N1C 4BH. Further details are here.
