Louder Than Words is ‘the genre-based literary festival celebrating words – oral, written and published – associated with the music industry’. It’s a lovely concept for a festival – over the course of three days, the great and good of the music industry gather in a single location – The Principal Hotel in Manchester – to discuss, share and celebrate the great and good in music-related published and unpublished words.
As ever this year there’s a truly impressive line-up, and you can buy a pass for the whole event or individual tickets.
Highlights include punk alumni Jordan and author Cathi Unsworth in conversation. Then there are Rough Trade founders Jeannette Lee and Geoff Travis talking aobut wht they so and how they do it, musician Eliza Carthy, Dr. Lucy O’Brien: author of ‘She Bop: Women in Popular Music’… The list goes on. As indeed does the beat.
